In celebration of February American Heart Month and Valentine’s Day season, take time to activate and purify the heart! The heart is much more than a hollow muscular organ that pumps blood. Your heart center is the most beautiful and powerful energy vortex in the body. When this energy center (chakra) is open, you feel love, inspiration, enthusiasm, confidence, and strength. Since the Heart Chakra has the capacity to be open or closed, we will discover the keys to keeping the gateway of the heart open, cleansed, and rejuvenated so that we may blossom and radiate outwardly by awakening the divine within.
There is no previous experience required to participate in or benefit from this workshop.

In this workshop we will

  • Explore how the Heart Chakra functions and effects our moods, thoughts, and energy levels, both positively and negatively.
  • Practice a Yoga posture sequence to open the sacred inner temple of your Heart Chakra and physical body.
  • Experience a dynamic moving, repetitive, and meditative flow designed to receive self-compassion, as well as release and let go of old habits and patterns.

Restorative Yoga is a method for releasing tension and stress from the body by allowing the central nervous system to become calm and balanced while the body is in supported poses with the use of props such as pillows, bolsters, blocks, blankets, etc. Focused breath work is added to create deep relaxation in the body and a sense of calmness and peace throughout the entire being.

To enhance and deepen the experience of healing and relaxation found in Restorative Yoga, Reiki Therapy will be incorporated into this workshop. Reiki is an ancient Japanese technique for stress reduction and cellular level healing that encourages a state of balance, harmony and wellness in the physical body as well as in our emotional selves. Like Restorative Yoga, Reiki works to help reduce stress, anxiety, chronic tension and many other ailments on all levels of our being.

Combining the modalities of Restorative Yoga and Reiki Therapy allows for deep and profound release of tension and creates a powerfully transformative experience within and without for workshop participants. Optional hands on assists will be offered to enhance the experience of relaxation and restoration.
